SCUBA diving and snorkeling in Vieques is a joy. The waters are crystal clear and the reefs abound with fish,
coral and crustaceans.
Only Nan-Sea Charters and Black Beard Sports
offer SCUBA tours and certifications. Most of their dives are to otherwise
inaccessible areas, where the sea life is more abundant and much more
spectacular. Black Beard Sports is a P.A.D.I. Dive Center and full service
SCUBA shop.
You can access many of the dive spots by the beach and there is a map of
spots for Vieques to help you at
www.viequesphotography.com. There are many businesses on both islands
where you can rent snorkel gear and guides to help you find the best diving
without having to spend half a day to find them. All of the above companies
offer snorkel tours.
If you have the time to play in the water, you will enjoy the underwater
vistas and color available to you in the islands.
