On the far western end of Vieques the sun sets. This
setting is almost always on Mt. Pirata, "Pirate
Mountain". It is the same from the north side or
south. Except during the time of year when it sets just
off the south coast with the promise of the "Green
Flash".
Mt. Pirata is also the highest point on Vieques, and
offers a fabulous view of PR, Vieques, Culebra and other
islands to the east.
