BANNERS
Banners are mini advertisements which show up at
the top of a page (or anywhere else they're put for that matter),
like at the top of www.enchanted-isle.com's
homepage. They basically shortcuts directly to your site. The two
graphics to the right are also examples of banners. The banners on
the Enchanted-Isle site are set to be picked at random and stay on
the page as long as that visitor is there.
These banners can draw people to your site that
may never have found it to start with. Or, it may alert someone of
you page, when they get to one of the inner pages (Hey! I saw that
on the homepage. Let me take a look at it!)
You say you can't make a banner! You have no
talent. Well, guess what? Get over it, you can make one anyway.
Here are two Do-It-Yourself tutorials to help you
build a banner.
Create one on your computer with the
simple "Paint" paint program included with
"Windows". It may be called MS Paint with Windows 2000,
Me and XP.
All banners should be sized to 468 pixel wide by
60 pixels high. That is the standard banner size for this area of
the site. If we provide an option for additional banner sizes in
the future, you can find out here or in the newsletter.
Mac people- I apologize, but I don't know Mac. If
someone would like to help, I love to have you write a tutorial
for it.
