Casa Des Moines
Located in a quiet corner of Esperanza, the small fishing village on
the south side of Vieques, Casa Des Moines is a convenient
base for exploring this quiet, uncrowded island. A short distance away,
is the beautiful Maleçon, the sidewalk along the Esperanza beach, with
its quaint shops, breezy bars, excellent restaurants and great
snorkeling. Nearby, to the east, is lovely Sun Bay beach, the
Bioluminescent Bay and a long string of the best beaches on the island.
To the west are the ruins of sugar plantations and the abandoned naval
artillery
bunkers. Mixed with it all are the gorgeous flowers and birds and the
free roaming horses for which Vieques is known.
At Casa Des Moines, you will find bright and airy
accommodations for 4 adults or a small family. There is an eat-in
kitchen, a comfortable living room and a large bath. One of the 2 large,
air-conditioned bedrooms has 2 full beds; the other has 2 twin beds.
Each room also has a ceiling fan. The house is fully furnished and
equipped
with kitchen appliances, dishware, cookware, local phone service,
VCR/DVD player, bedding, towels, washer and dryer. There is a porch on 2
sides for lounging in the breeze, an outside rinse shower and a roof
deck for viewing the ocean and south side hills.
The
house is in a charming residential area with friendly neighbors. The daily routines of
family, work, and school are evident in the neighborhood. At almost any
time you can watch horses and colts in the street and nearby pastures.
Casa Des Moines is a great place for relaxing and enjoying
all Vieques has to offer.
