Casa
de Playa Vieques is not the usual Florida McMansion . . . but a traditional modest casa that fits gently within its natural environment.
It is a trip to nostalgia for the old time Caribbean quality of life.
Your grounds are like a park with large coconut trees, the rare ceiba,
many almonds, bananas and other fruits. And an enchanted laguna flanked
by protected mangroves, visited daily by free-ranging pasa finos, and
inhabited by iguanas, land crabs, anoles, and . . . the fragrance of the
Trade Winds.
La
Casa is newly-renovated, has two queen-size bedrooms and one bathroom
(also an outside shower). The chef-kitchen is well-stocked and fun, as
is the dining, lounge and playroom area (incl. Direct TV). There is a
wonderful covered patio facing the mysterious ocean and the fanciful
beach where horses come to roll in the sand after bathing in the laguna.
And in the distance is Culebra, where the lights come on as the sun
sets, and here (in our national sanctuary) the birds begin to gossip and
the coquis to sing.
Discover
beaching at Casa de Playa: sunning, sanding, wading, stroking, seaglass
searching, seashell listening, walking -- you can walk out the front and
turn west and hike to Isabel II! (The first section is on sand, the rest
on rock). Or turn east and walk clear to the Bermuda Triangle (a long
way down there but all on sandy beach). Or you can nap.
Our home is a casa on a beach, within a wildlife refuge, with a great
sense of privacy and natural wonder. As our guests you will enjoy a
unique, tropical experience that captures the beauty and charm of La
Isla Nena, and offers you lasting memories of a very special place.
