Vieques Island, PR

Nestled
on a palm swept hillside on the pastoral island of Vieques sits the lovely, very
private villa, "Casa Bonita" conveniently located, a short walk to the Sea Road
and Isabel II. With two spacious split bedrooms (one king, one twin), two baths,
and a gorgeous new fully equipped kitchen and a lovely living room, encircled with glass jalousie
French doors that open fully to reveal verdant foliage and, in the distance, the
Caribbean Sea with St. Thomas on the horizon. Ceiling fans augment the delicious
trade winds and a forty foot terrace extends over the terrain which boasts a
covered dining patio, dreamy hammocks, tropical plantings (banana and coconut
palms, hibiscus, breadfruit, avocado and lime trees). A pathway leads to the
rear where one bath is located as well as a washing machine and a sun-drying
line. The property is fenced and gated with a paved driveway to the garage.
"Casa Bonita" added features: cordless telephone, answering machine, TV, VCR, radio, CD,
high speed internet access, iPod
docking station, bar-b-que grills, hair
dryer, bath towels and sand chairs.
Vieques ("Isla Nena" or "Little Sister Island") is just
a 20 minute flight from San Juan by small plane or a one hour ferry trip from
Fajardo. Vieques is a natural paradise with gorgeous vistas, golden sand beaches
(just ten minutes by car from "Casa Bonita"),
turquoise seas, one of just four remaining bioluminescent bays in the world -
plus the small town 'hub bub' in the villages of Isabel Segunda and Esperanza,
a number of good restaurants, grocery stores (super mercados). The locals are friendly and though there is no golf, movies and
little television, there are a number of galleries with local arts and crafts
and a historic fort and lighthouse. Then there's always a good book ...
Don't forget the sunscreen!
