Orchid Beach
Orchid Beach (Playa La Plata) is accessible from the back side of Blue Beach via
the road that runs along Ensenada Honda, the largest bay on Vieques. East of
popular Blue Beach, this beach area has little roads that
shoot down to some beautiful, secluded areas into which you can lose
yourself for the day.
It is one of the furthest accessible beaches on the
former navy land. This is part of the US Fish & Wildlife Preserve.
Access to this and other beaches in the National Wildlife Refuge
can vary according to road conditions. It's a lot of fun to
play explorer, though! Sometimes the rewards are great...a
beach all to yourself.
